The Pontiac GTO is a big rear wheel drive coupé built by Pontiac in North America between 1964 and 1967 (first generation), between 1968 and 1973 (second generation) and in 1974 (third generation) and built by Holden in Australia between 2004 and 2006 (fourth generation).

The fourth generation Pontiac GTO is actually the left-hand drive version of the third generation Holden Monaro, built mainly for the US market.

The 2004 Pontiac GTO had a 5.7 litre V8 engine. The 2005 Pontiac GTO received a 6.0 litre V8 engine. The latter was eventually meant to be used as technical base for the production version of the Bitter CD2.
