The Bitter Vero Sport was presented on the 2009 Geneva Motorshow.
Technical base for the Vero Sport is the American Pontiac G8 GXP which itself is based on the Australian Holden Commodore. This mid-size rear-wheel drive sports sedan is built in both right-hand drive and left-hand drive configurations and as such offers a perfect base for Erich Bitter's new four door sports sedan.
Several technical modifications were necessary to make the car meet the highest European standards. From the outside the car differs from the original with a new bonnet, a new grille, new headlights and new bumpers at the front and the back. Half leather interior is standard but the car can optionally be trimmed with a special full leather interior with Alcantara headliner.
The Pontiac G8 GXP and the Vero Sport prototype have a V8 6.2L 415 BHP engine under the bonnet. For the Vero Sport production model, however, different motorisations will be available, i.e. V6 3.6L 265 BHP, V8 6.0L 365 BHP, V8 6.0L with compressor 550 BHP (sequential gearbox) and V8 6.0L with compressor 600 BHP (manual gearbox). The compressor engine is part of a Walkinshaw Performance high-power package which also incudes updated brakes.
Launch prices in Germany are about 72.000 EUR excl. VAT for the V6, 76.000 EUR excl. VAT for the atmospheric V8 and 96.000 EUR excl. VAT for the V8 with compressor.
