The Opel Omega was a big rear-wheel drive sedan built between 1986 and 2003. The Opel Omega A was built between 1986 and 1993. The Opel Omega B was built between 1994 and 2003.
The Opel Omega was sold as Cadillac Catera in North America and as Vauxhall Omega in the UK. It was also used as base for the Holden Commodore and Chevrolet Lumina that were built in Australia.
Some noteable versions of the Opel Omega A were the Omega 3000 and Lotus Omega. The Opel Senator B used a lengthened Opel Omega A chassis. The Opel Omega A received a facelift in 1990. The facelifted model was called Opel Omega A2. The pre-facelift model is often referred to as Opel Omega A1.
The Opel Omega A1 was the mechanical base for the Bitter Type3.
As the Opel Omega B was a much bigger and much more modern car than the Opel Omega A it replaced both the Opel Omega A and the Opel Senator B. The Opel Omega B received a facelift in 1999. The facelifted model was called Opel Omega B2. The pre-facelift model is often referred to as Opel Omega B1.
The Opel Omega B1 was the mechanical base for the Bitter Berlina.
