The Opel Adam was presented in September 2012 on the Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris.

In 2013 at Erich Bitter's 80th birthday party in Schwelm a preview of the upcoming "Adam by Bitter" was shown. There was a purple Opel Adam with a white roof but it wasn't converted yet. There was, however, a two page prospect, showing the Bitter "Signora" body kit for the Opel Adam.

The "Adam by Bitter" was officially presented in 2014.

Like with all "by Bitter" models a wide range of colors and trims are possible. With Erich Bitter's words: "Fast unbegrenzt, die Kombinationen in Form, Farbe und Verarbeitung".

The "Adam S by Bitter" has a 150 BHP 4-cylinder 1.4 litre turbocharged engine, a 6-speed manual gearbox and a sport chassis which allows a top speed of 210 km/h and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.5 sec.
